Brendon Jones lives in Roebourne – Ireamugadu, a small town in Western Australia located in the Pilbara region. As his home, it holds deep significance for him, where he has spent time learning and connecting with his culture—hunting, gathering food for families in need, and understanding the land around him.

One of his paintings features two serpents, which represent the Aboriginal Dreaming’s of his ancestors and culture. According to the story, the two snakes fought over the boundaries of the land. The blue serpent symbolizes the ocean and its resting place, while the other, the inland rainbow serpent, represents the freshwater and its place of rest.
