Colours of our Country is a vibrant annual Aboriginal art exhibition that celebrates the rich culture and heritage of Indigenous people through artworks by Pilbara-based artists.
First held as a pop-up event commemorating 40 years of Rio Tinto iron ore operations in WA, the exhibition has grown into a high-profile platform that connects art lovers with Pilbara Aboriginal artists and the powerful stories behind their work.
In 2025, we proudly mark the 20th Colours of our Country exhibition with a global celebration. In addition to our much-loved Boorloo (Perth) event, artworks will also be showcased and available for sale in London, UK and Undalup (Busselton), WA, and online Australia-wide.
Up to 250 unique Aboriginal artworks will be exhibited and sold, featuring exceptional pieces from independent artists and leading art centres including Cheeditha Art Group and Juluwarlu Art Group, and Yinjaa-Barni Art Centre.
100% of all proceeds go directly to the artists, art centres and their communities.
Since its inception, Colours of our Country has sold nearly 3,100 artworks, generating more than A$3.4 million to support Pilbara Aboriginal artists and their communities.
Rio Tinto is proud to be the founder and ongoing supporter of this important initiative, one that shines a light on Pilbara talent and helps preserve and share their extraordinary culture through art.
Whether you’re browsing the gallery in person or discovering masterpieces online, we invite you to immerse yourself in this celebration of culture, connection and creativity.

Allery’s deep connection to Country; its waterways, skies, landforms and sacred sites, is a constant source of inspiration in her art. Her work is instantly recognisable for its intricate dot work, rhythmic lines, and vibrant colour palettes that evoke the stories and spiritual energy of her Country.
Her signature piece, “After the Rain,” is a visual representation of cleansing, regrowth, and spiritual renewal — reflecting the cycles of nature and the resilience of her people.
