Mary Watson is a Yindjibarndi woman living in Roebourne, daughter to famed artist Alice Guinness. Mary is an emerging artist who has been quietly painting her deeply thoughtful, beautifully patterned artworks for only two years. Mary’s works are bold and colourful and are often depictions of the Yurra (Sun) and explore her connection to Ngurra, Mary has represented Juluwarlu Art Group at Revealed in 2022.

Juluwarlu’s purpose is to collect, sustain and promote knowledge of Yindjibarndi culture – their ngurra, wanda, and animals, their language, genealogy, mythology, social history, and biography to sustain Yindjibarndi identity, self esteem, respect and other values they consider vital to the lives, well-being and cultural future.
